Oxford City Council launches digital platform with Jadu Continuum CMS

Oxford City Council has launched a completely transformed website providing their residents with a new and convenient way to get things done online.

The site has been redesigned and redeveloped from the ground up to provide quick and easy access whether residents are using their laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

Visitors to the site can now easily browse the wealth of services the City Council provides, including:
  • Paying Council Tax, housing rent and Business Rates online
  • Receiving their Council Tax and Business Rates bills electronically
  • Checking and receiving reminders of their bin collection days
  • Applying for Park & Ride permits, HMO licences and planning permission
  • Reporting flytipping, noise complaints, anti-social behaviour or road defects
  • Finding events across the city
  • Participating in consultations
Councillor Susan Brown, Board Member for Customer and Corporate Services said:

I am delighted to see the new website launch this week. This has been the culmination of many months of work between Oxford City Council, Spacecraft Digital and Jadu - the result is a much better site for local residents and visitors to find out about Oxford and our City Council services. Now, people can contact us more easily and even do business with us when it’s convenient for them.

The new Oxford.gov.uk website is powered by the Jadu Continuum Platform and designed by Leicester based creative agency ‘Spacecraft Digital’.

Neil Lawrence, Digital Development Manager at Oxford City Council said:

We selected the Jadu Continuum platform both for its ease of use and simplicity as well as the unique continuous release model, which will make keeping our critical digital service up to date, both seamless and cost effective.

“We’re really proud to have Oxford City Council on board with Jadu Continuum Platform”, said Sarah Backhouse, Product Manager for Continuum CMS. “Oxford City is an important member of our strong, growing community of users in Local Government and we’re really excited to see how the platform supports transformation.”

Jadu recently announced that it has moved to a continuous delivery model where upgrades to its web software platform are no longer needed, saving millions in costs to its customer base.
