Lichfield District Council Case Study
The Staffordshire Jadu eGov Partnership
By working closely with Jadu, who are leading the integration of their Jadu eGov CMS systems into their joint Oracle CRM systems - all three councils have saved thousands of pounds in integration costs.
Using the Jadu advanced A-Z system, each authority already fulfils all the requirements of the LocalDirectGov project, by providing their A-Z in a simple exportable and fully PID referenced format.
By implementing the A-Z system on each of their Jadu Intranet systems, the three councils have been able to provide XML content feeds directly into their Oracle LG45 CRM system - providing service desk operators with one-view of content on services.
Additionally, the three partner councils are looking at a joint integration project on eBalances using Jadu's ePay software.
Suraj Kika, CEO of Jadu said:"Lichfield District Council have leveraged the Jadu eGov partnership to its full potential, by merging integration projects and using standard Jadu eGov functionality to deliver high-end content delivery - directly into CRM. Each authority has saved duplication and significant development costs."
This type of A-Z integration into CRM is second time around for Jadu - having already completed integration into Onyx CRM for Jadu's four East Lancashire authorities. Suraj said: "Jadu developed the advanced A-Z from work done at Lancashire County Council to develop a shared A-Z schema. The A-Z now complies with LocalDirectGov's schema and will soon feed services directly into the ESD-Toolkit."
Lichfield District Council is also one of 18 pilot authorities in the LocalDirectGov programme.
As well as benefiting from sharing development and integration, the three partners have also collaborated on creating and sharing content. Paul Johnson, Local Authority Delivery Manager for Jadu said: "We took content, A-Z services, links and eForms from other Jadu partners to provide a head start in delivering Lichfield and Cannock's systems - we then shared this with Staffordshire Moorlands - again giving them a huge headstart."
Lichfield District Council are also a leading partner is delivery of the Single Business Account (SBA) with which Jadu will be involved.
"The great thing about Jadu eGov", said Suraj "is that when one partner implements something, all partners benefit through upgrade - that's why Jadu eGov websites are among the most advanced Local Authority websites in the Country."
By leveraging the Jadu eGov partnership, all three Staffordshire
authorities have shared content, functionality and knowledge as well as
having acheived considerable financial savings by initiating joint integration and customisation projects with Jadu.
More recently, Lichfield DC have been named twice as an example of best practice in the SOCITM 'Better Connected 2006' report.
