The choice between Open Source Software (OSS) for your CMS and a commercial licensed product is as much cultural as it is a commercial cost versus benefit decision.

There are huge benefits to open source systems for lower level and mid range implementations and the open source principle itself is powerful, empowering and hugely influences everything we do. From Linux to Android - open source has meant we can do much, much more and react to changing technology much faster.

Jadu CMS is proprietary, but open code. That means our code is not compiled to a binary and your installed instance of the Jadu CMS features the entire source code. We also have Jadu as a .NET distribution - which means you can run Jadu using our open source .NET compiler 'Phalanger' under .NET - making best use of your internal knowledge and expertise as well as existing infrastructure.

Additionally, there are two extensive APIs that provide extensibility.

Guarantee from a market leading vendor

Most open source products have no real guarantee and in many cases, require heavy investment in internal resources to manage, maintain and extend the system. When considering the longer term return on investment of deploying OSS, resources and support  are often overlooked from longer term planning.

All Jadu installations include system level intrusion detection. This is a constantly updated service that checks for the latest vulnerabilities. Our source code is restricted access to customer installations and internal employees only. There is no code 'in the open'.

Jadu runs on the Linux, Apache, CMS and PHP platform - providing a Jadu open technology architecture and Jadu reducing cost of ownership. Jadu also runs on the .NET platform, which uses the Jadu Open Source 'Phalanger' .NET compiler.
